Paul Edmondson wins National Hare Scrambles title at final round
Edges out defending champ Doug Blackwell by only 7 points

Oct. 16 - Four-time world enduro champion Paul Edmondson finally achieved a goal he set three years ago when he came here from England: He won his first American title. The Kawasaki rider, who now lives in Corona, Calif., finished third behind series rival and defending champ Doug Blackwell and Shane Watts Sunday, Oct. 15 at Dutch Sport Park in Bloomingdale, Mich., to win the 2000 AMA National Hare Scrambles title.

Blackwell actually led Edmondson by one point going into Sunday's final round, but after each rider threw out their two lowest scores, Edmondson came out on top by only 7 points! Edmondson's two throwaway rounds were two that he missed, May 7 and Sept. 10, but in the remaining rounds he never finished lower than third place. Blackwell's
