head gaskets

since i don't race my two stroke my top end isn't under as much pressuer as the people who race. but if i wanted to see if my rings were worn wouldn't i need to replace my head gasket? i think you do so where do you guys buy head gaskets by say the "bunch" maybe like ten or something to that nature?

There really isn't any reason to replace the head gasket. Remove the jug and leave the head gasket on.
You can look down into the jub and inspect the head. If its o.k. just leave it and save a bundle.

what do you mean by "jug"? and why would i look into the "jub" to look at the head? i just want to be able to tell when my top-end needs changing without changing it all the time but not leaving it in there too long that it seizes.

He means to leave the head on, look into the jug(cylinder)

Jug = cylnder. What he means is take the cylnder off without removing the head. To check the condition of your piston and ring you need to take your cylnder off.
