Really getting dialed in on my '98 YZ400 and ran my first races yesterday. Finished 6/6 and that is good for me. One area I had trouble was on a long uphill 4th gear straight away. After topping out third gear the front end was all over the place. I tried to hold on and keep the throttle open but it was tuff.

So what can I do to stablize the front end? I have Delta valves and the overall action seems good. I have the sag set up right around 4 inches. Should I lower the rear end more? The forks have about 5mm showing above the top of the clamps, lower them flush or more?

Thanks for the help,

Mike

Mike. Had the same problem on my 99 WR400. I would recommend a steering damper. You can eliminate some of your sag and push your forks back down in the crowns and it will help, but, doing this will slow down your steering. If you like the steering the way it is, just put a damper on it. I put a Scott's on mine.
