Hello,

I'm new to the sport, and can get a sweet deal on a Honda right now(a buddy of mine works at a Honda dealer!)
I've been getting alot of different opinions on which one I should buy for my size/weight, and have looked extensively on the forum, and most of the advice has me leaning for the 250x.

1) your physical size (both height and weight are important)
6'4, 210lbs
2) How physical / aggressive are you ?
newbie, not that aggressive
3) what do you plan to ride- MX/SX tracks, woods, fields with friends or ?????
woods, fields, maybe some jumps/tracks
4) Do you have any riding experience?
2 yrs on street bikes, none on dirt
5) Do you think you will race ?
no
6) Are you mechanically inclined and will you be doing your own bike work?
I will be doing my own work
7) Do YOU have a preferance to a brand/ motor choice (2 or 4 stroke)?
4 stroke, can get a deal on Honda right now (buddy of mine works at a dealer!)
8) Do you have a dealer close by your home that you might use and what brand(s) does he carry?
Honda
9) How much ($) do you plan to spend on a bike?
$5000-$7000
10) Do you live in California?
no
11) Your age?
36
12) anything else that you think would help form an opinion?
Anything that will make my decision easier wil be much appreciated!

It is hard to go wrong with either of those. Lots of people will post up that the 450 will have more power, but you knew that.

Both of them are great bikes and have a lot of aftermarket accessories when you get comfortable (or break stuff like plastic and levers).

I am not sure of the riding conditions you will do but if it is more slow and tight then the 250X will tire you out the least but both are great bikes.

I have a YZ250F and it is my preferred ride and I think the 250f line's that are out are really newbie friendly.

Get some good gear and have fun!
