I have ordered an FMF Gnarly Woods pipe. FMF says to use a R1173L needle. I was told this is a Kaw. # and to call the dealer, they don't have it. Please help, Thanks.

The bike is 2006 kdx200 and has an R1174K in it. What is the difference between the K and L . My local dealer said they have been leaving the 1174 needle in and haveing good luck, has anyone found this to be so.

R1173L NEEDLE- KAW # 16009-1825
R1173K NEEDLE- KAW # 16009-1831
The R1173L comes stock on the 220 the R1174K comes stock on the 200.
The "L's"are listed for the 220 and "K's" for the 200. Acording to the FMF site it does recommend the "L".
Is this an error from FMF?

re: What is the difference?

Check CDave's site..noted in the 'Every KDX rider should read...' thread stickied to the top of this forum.

Or... CLICK THIS!

Follow the 'KDX Tech Tips' 'Understanding Jet Needles' (under the 'Engine' heading) links.

Tells you all you will ever need to know about the numbers.

Note that some Kaw needles do not cross to Keihin parts.
