My sister just bought her son a 2001 Husky Boy 50J, the air cooled starter bike. It is a premix bike to the best of my knowledge, but I don't know what the factory ratio spec is. Can any of you guys help?
Thanks,
Charles

My son had the exact same bike. We bought it used and at the recomendation of the dealer ran Silkolene at 40:1. We never had any problems but I know that most people probably run the smaller bikes at 32:1. That's what I run in the KX60, which I bought to replace the Husky. I have a manual with this one.

I found a basic specs manual in italian on the web, and it specified 50:1. I think that seems like a little much, and am more inclined to go with 40:1. Did you have to do any jetting work?

My son rides a 2002 Husky CR50J and we run 40:1. It seems to work well.

The only problem we have had is with loose bolts. Check the bolts often. Especially rear sprocket and drive train. Otherwise has been a great bike.
