greetings all,
i'll make it short - am new at this. not a gearhead-yet. first bike practically. i'm picking up a kdx200 tomorrow, -its used and am trying to figure out the year of this model.
it's been repainted but unless the seat's been changed, it says SR on one side.
I'd say it's between '89-95. How do I ID the year?
Many thanks in advance. Sure will be back with the usual newbie questions.
(had a TS250 '85 suzuki before this)

If you go to www.buykawasaki.com , view parts diagram, you can enter in the Vehicle Identificantion Number which should be on the steering head, and the web site shouldl tell you what year and model.

It is possible that the buykawasaki web site only has info on USA models and since the SR was not imported to the USA, your VIN might not be listed. But its worth a try.

Quick identifier (assuming they haven’t changed it). The SR model has a metal tank instead of plastic. It also is restricted in several ways including a smaller carb. Don’t let this worry you too much for tooling around it’ll still be a lot of fun.

Oh and of course http://justkdx.dirtrider.net/
timeline if you haven't been there.
