They were true patriots, and are heroes. They should all get a hero's funeral, flag-draped coffin and all.

Thomas Burnett of California is not mentioned in the article linked above, but his wife reported to the San Francisco Chronicle that he had told her that he and other passengers were organizing to stop the terrorist.

We may never know what happened, but if they helped save lives by detouring that plane, our nation should be forever grateful.

Passengers on the other three planes probably had no idea that the hijackers intended to crash the planes.
