OK  Welcome to the site :)

Tell us a bit about yourself.

Where do you live?
What brand do you ride?
What kinds of terrain do you ride?

We will try and hook you up with some folks from your area ....

Also, watch the SoCal Wrecking Crew forum for upcoming rides. They often venture north of the valley.

Hrm..

I live in Brentwood (northern, Like I said. Not by OJ!)
Currently, no brand. I had a YZ250 for a week, but when I took it in to get a leaky fork seal replaced that it had a KTM front end (posted this all in the YZ forum), took it back, and was going to pick up a 91 RM125 in killer shape, but the guy wouldn't budge on the price AT ALL so I walked.
I don't ride any terrain yet :)

Basically I'm just lookin for a $1000 dollar (give or take) bike that I can go mosh around on until I get some riding experience, so an early 90s or even late 80s 125 or 250 would be fine...

Good luck on locating a bike. You might try and post a want to buy post in the for sale forum.

Regarding bikes, CCs, etc., take a close look at the What Bike Do I Get... ? forum for some good information.

I got a YZ125 when I first got back into riding a few years back, and BOY did I make a mistake. Dang thing had a throttle like a light switch and fouled plugs in the cardboard packaging before I could even use them. The bike was well suited for the track, but completely WRONG for the type of terrain I wanted to ride. Now I have a KTM 200MXC and all is right with the world. :yeehaw:

Got one!!!!

2000 RM250, 1500 bucks :happydancesmilie
ceet graphics, renthal bars, hinson clutch basket, fmf fatty gold series pipe, fmf silencer, excel rims... bought it from a guy who races bikes and doesn't need this one anymore b/c he's moving and doesn't have room for it, and wanted to see it go to someone who would get some good use out of it W00T.

It'll probably need tires soon, and I need to order a set of number plate graphics, but that's it... oh and new grips. I'm freaking STOKED.

So, like... where can I get a good deal on gear? My buddy can get me MSR helmet/jersey/pants/gloves for about 170 bucks, seems like a pretty good deal? All I'd need is boots, chest protector, and goggles right?

Thx again
