On a RM250 Eric Gorr suggests:

"Most pros switch to a Hinson Racing clutch basket and pressure plate, combined with KX250 plates and springs. (Kaw#s, Fiber plates; 13088-1105 Metal plates; 13089-1066 Springs; 92144-1351) This set up resists learching, and slippage better than the original clutch parts. Pro Circuit UK imports Hinson clutches."

Can someone tell me if a 98 KX250 Hinson basket will fit on my 98 RM250? Thing is, I can get a complete Hinson clutch kit for a KX250 for cheap. Just don't know if the basket is interchangeable. Never done this mod. DennisKirk lists two different parts numbers for each.

Eric is talking about an RM250 Hinson basket with KX plates , not a KX basket.

Sorry, I can't help you, but would be interested to know what you find out. Perhaps you could ask Eric Gorr? Could you provide the link where you qouted him on this?

I know Eric was talking specifically about a RM basket but that doesn't answer my question regardless of how stupid it may seem. I've never worked with clutch baskets so I don't know if KX250s are unique to that bike. Considering the discs, springs and steel plates are interchangeable, I didn't see why the baskets would NOT be. So what is physically different b/t a KX and RM basket?
