I just bought a 1983 cr480 fixer upper it would run last night.today I degreased the engine now no spark any ideas?

found issue

apparently when I went to degrease the motor I got the ignition wet started on 2 kicks today tomorrow I make it ride able

glad you found it. I don't know your bike but I did a crf 450 recently and the bike had a groundwire a the spot where the coil sits. Some bikes seem to have a ground wire.

thanks arnego it sounds wicked got back wheel off waiting on sprocket cant wait to ride it sadly it will be for sale, I bring bikes that have been forgotten back to life so they can be enjoyed again I also love to ride and keep a few but old ones are my favorite.Was the cr450 fast?
