What are you using that on ???
If you cylinder has a sleeve than go for it . If your cylinder is ELECTROPLATED do not use regular hone device as it will damage your cylinder. Special diamond hone is needed for electroplated cylinders.
An aluminum oxide hone isn't going to damage the plating, but it won't do anything beneficial either. All you have to do to a Nicasil bore surface is clean it up real good with a scotch brite pad and some WD40. If the cross-hatch marks aren't clearly visible after the cleaning, then the plating is toast, and a hone ain't gonna make new cross-hatching.
If it's the spring loaded type, then you shouldn't use it on 2 strokes because the stones can get caught up in the ports. A ball hone is what most home guys are using, though it's really functioning as a glaze breaker more than a hone in modern plated cylinders. Someone suggested wrapping sandpaper around the stones to prevent them hanging up in the ports in another thread. If you do a search you should be able to find it.
