I reserved a motel room, primarily for the use of a hot shower. You will def. want to camp, it's not that cool. We had one night last year that I froze, but it was my own fault for not bringing a quality sleeping bag and having too many beers to legally drive in to the motel  :yeehaw:

You may find yourself wanting to do the same, that way you are there and ready to go in the morning.

Does anybody rent U-haul trailers for dirtweek? I was thinking that if I can make it, I might try to rent one to haul the bike and camp in. Anybody got a recomendation on which size for 2 bikes and how much they are?

6X12 the biggest uhaul has. For two bikes and to camp in you will def. need it.  I have rented them in the past and was surprised at how little rome was in them considering.

Camp Tejas will be bigger and better this coming year!

As far as the weather, it could be anything from desert heat to a blizzard.  The norm is 70~80 durning the day and 50~60 at night.  I slept on a cot under our tarp last year.  I do plan on being farther from the coolers this time so the raiding parties don't wake me.

CAMP, trust me, you won't want to leave when the sun goes down.
Probably half of the fun is after the bikes are parked, maybe more.

This year we will RV it. I've done the hotel thing the past two years and it works out just fine but you do miss some of the "interesting" happenings late in the evening which may or may not be a good thing.

I only went into town to shower, I did not want to leave at all. Definitely plan on staying out there. There are even showers of a sort there thanks to BSwift.

:worship: BSWIFT!!! I kept seeing everyone going in dirty and coming out clean.

They had everything a person could want .... except hot water.  DW03 will include hot water.

Camp definitely! The night life is sooo entertaining. :)I would have missed the cheese-whiz bomb fire in 01, and double pickles in 02 if I had gone to town to sleep.

Tony, who would steal another mans beer?

The water heater failed this year. :ugg: Actually the water temp in the early evening was perfect.  Morning temps would definitely cause some shrinkage. :scream:

It was a great set-up, Bswift, and thank you for all your time and trouble on it! It was easier to shave my legs in the hotel room shower though . . .

..don't know where to go with THAT one (leg shavin' that is) although some finer establishments actually put that sort of activity on stage

We hotel roomed it, did kind of wished we had camped.

"Finer establishments" isn't what I'd call THOSE kinds of places.

From all the post about DW02 I for one am going to camp. It appears that's the place to be after the bikes are put to bed. :thumb:
