Honda offered dual range transmissions in the CB900C and CB1000c. There were shaft drive cruiser bikes. They were also available on some small bike and atv auto clutch models. How do these things get the dual range? Do the big cruisers and little thumpers use the same type of mechanisms? I looked at the 900C transmission on partsfish but did not see anything obvious.
I dont know if thats the same thing as the Hondamatic like the late 70 early 80s CB 400s used or not, if it is, its just a 2 speed tranny. Im not aware of any variable pitch bands or anyting like that that extends the ratios out, just two speeds.
