do a search on this, it's been asked before.

But I always say it just depends, some people are still running on a several year old top end. Of course it's better to replace before it "blows" then after. I think your manual will tell you every 7.5 hours for piston and rings, reed valves. every 20 hours or so the connecting rod small end bearing.

if its not broken dont try to mend it, jus make sure not to run the motor on low oil.

that wont make a difference. He is riding a 2 stroke so the oil is in the gas.
