I wouldn't think the street version (KMX) would have a hard to pull clutch. Lube the clutch cable. If that don't work then remove 2 clutch springs (opposite each other) but put them back if you perceive any clutch slippage.
They make clutch levers that have different (usually 3 positions) mounting points for the upper end ball that is at the end of the clutch cable. Putting the ball in the position closest to the pivot gives you the easiest pull but less travel distance.
I would worry about the cable fraying due to it not having a straight shot to the lever. It would be forced to bend. Maybe go to different dealers and measure the distance from lever pivot to cable and just buy the whole assembly of one that has less distance than the KMX has.
