How to remove spooge????

I'll second the vote for WD-40, great for getting the stuff off the plastic. But it will take the shine off the plastic along with the spooge.
Contact cleaner works great for getting it out of tight access areas like around the brake caliper. Tell your son to wear glasses when using contact cleaner- that stuff burns when it gets in your eyes!

Breaking down the oil crud
Try Dawn - its a liquid dish washing soap. I was using Simple Green and read a post about Dawn. My wife (who also rides) read it and decided I should try it (I also clean her KX100 and do the maintenance). This stuff really loosens up the oil crud, much better than Simple Green. I would suggest putting some on overnight and let it soak in.
Just my 2 cents worth.

I just waskh my bike with dawn after every ride. then use a pump sprayer and spray the bike down with WD-40 ( keeping it off of brakes, seat, and grips of course). Mine is a "99 and still looks brand new. Tire foam also works great. The advantage to the foam or the WD. is that the spooge and dirt don't contact the actual bike ( b/c of the thin layer of whichever). This makes it a breez to clean after the next ride.

Another way to get rid of spooge, buy a 4 stroke.:D P.s. Spanky, what John Wayne movie is that from? I love that that line from "The Cowboys" before he fights Bruce Dern. Basically it goes ( not exactly correct), "I've broken both my legs, my arm, and my back. I am twice your age, and on my worst day I could still beat the cr@p out of you." If any one knows it word for word, let me know. Another great line is from Rooster Cogburn. ( Fess up if you know it.):)

Castrol Super Clean
I will swear by this stuff. spray it on... let it sit for a minute... rinse it off... THE SPOOGE IS GONE! If your motor has gotten grease on it for some reason, and you can't reach it with a brush, spray a little of this stuff on there, and let it sit for 3-5 minutes, rinse it off with a little pressurized water or gas, and your motor will look good as new. If you use it on brake calipers though, be sure and use brake cleaner to give it all a good drenching. don't let it sit too long or it will begin to attack your pads. be sure to rinse it off well when you are done.:cool:

I like Castrol Super Clean too....but you should be careful about spraying heavy solvents around your bike. I like to use Goo Gone. Just a little on the end of a rag and wipe the spooge away. Much more control putting whatever you use on a rag instead of spraying it around.

Is this refering to my post earlier in this thread? If so, I am very enviromentally consious, I only go through about 4L of the stuff a season and when I am done with it I dispose of it properly. At a gas station used oil dump. Where stuff like that is supposed to go. I dont just dump it in the ditch across the street.
I care about the enviroment as much as everybody else does.
sorry about that, I assumed, by the way it was worded that you just sprayed the stuff all over the bike then washed it off letting it run into the ground. I got an ugly picture in my head. I'm glad to see that more people are conscious abous that sort of thing. Again, apoligies.
