Make sure you get a set of soft ties with the tie downs, they should come with them. They are optional in some cases if you can use them, but 1 of the best accessories. Any place you tie a bike down(at the bottom), try to at least match the fork angle, or even in front a little for the bottom hook. To far forward is bad, it has the tendency to flip the bike over, and in back of the fork leg will not work. Sideways, the farther out the better, straight up and down does not work. There are usually openings in the inside and the openings on the top that work good for the best angles. Make or buying the racks for the front wheel is a nice set up. Wheel chocks are the best. No load on the front end, and technically no tie downs are needed, I still strap it. Finally, tie the rear wheel to keep it centered, and down if possible. When I am done torquing down all the straps, a single knot snugged up, so if it gets loose, the crossed strap stops it. Seeing your 10 year old dog getting ran over is not as bad as seeing yours or your buddies bike doing ghost endos in the rear view mirror. Don't ask please? Vintage Bob
