I'm running a 2002 TE570 and this weekend I not only trashed my 3 race old 50 tooth sprocket, but I also broke my chain guild and weld mounts right off the swingarm. Now I need to have new welds and a chain guide, but I also need a chain and sprocket. Chain is dog legged too. My question is the quality of Tallon vrs. Renthal. I can get them at about the same price with a chain, so I was looking for input on what the quailty is and what people like. I've used Sprocket specialist and renthal before, but never Tallon.

Thanks for the input

I am sorry, I cannot answer the specific brand questions, as I have never tried any of them. I make sure to use all steel sprockets. I generally order them from Dennis Kirk or other mail order houses. I have had nothing but trouble with aluminum sprockets, so I stay away from them.

i've had good recent experience with a brand of sprocket called "ironman", now distributed by "dirttricks"- their "chromoly steel" rear has a 1 year guarantee!! DID has an X ring chain which has given me better performance than any others- my kx500 was "eating" the other name brand chains!

Thanks guys, I've gotten some info on the VMX-Ring chain and I'm opting to use that over the O-ring type. On the sprockets, it's still up in the air. I wonder what the damage would have been like if I had not been running aluminum. It may have been a plus that the sprocket did fold when I took the hit. If it didnt it could have cause further damage. What I did was blast off a tral in a qualifer for a club enduro and ended up taking a rock to the under side of the swing arm. When the bike came to a stop the sprocket was shot, the chain guide was up by the case, the chain was dog legged, and the welded guide (mount) brackets were missing.

Tough day, but it could have been worse. I could be the one needing the repairs and not the bike. I'm thankful for the outcome as strange as it may sound. Just need to get running before the next enduro though.

Thanks again for your help.
