I have to ask again as we are not getting enough e-mails to Sen Birkholz.
HB 4323 is in her hands and may stagnate in her committee if YOU do not write!

Below is one of the letters that I sent her and the rest of the Natural resource Senate committee.
YOU do not have to be so wordy!
A simple "please support" letter is sufficient.

Honorable Patricia Birkholtz,
I'm writting you today to ask for your support and the submitting
HB4323 to the Natural Resource Committee members for passage.

The bill as written has the potential to improve the economic
climate
of the communities in the Norhtern Lower Peninsula of this great State.
By allowing the Off road community to travel the county roads to
obtain
access to food, fuel and lodging, we could provide economic relief to
the
areas that have trail systems in their boundaries.

As for damage to the roads and possible ecological damage, the bill
provides for heavy fines and restoration cost to violators. These moneys
split between enforcement and County road Commissions.
The counties
that
already enjoy this privilege have shown little problems and less
illegal
riding and has been endorsed by the County Sheriffs Association.

The benefit to the Department of Natural Resources can also be seen
with the requirement of all ORVs using this must have an ORV sticker
that
helps pay for trail system and administrative cost of the department.

I'm proud to be involved in one of the only land use groups that
have
remained 100% paid for by the ORV users and not by the use of public
funds.

As a member of the Michigan Conservation Summit and a member of the
Forest Management Advisory Committee I feel that the liability to our
forests and their conservation is minimal at best and a positive move
forward to help control the illegal riding that threatens the
Certification of our forest and wood products.

I have had the pleasure in the past to work with you on other orv
legislation and look forward to a continued relationship.

Sincerely,

Thomas Dunn

Do you have the email address to send this letter to?
Stuckytough: If you live in Barry county you're in her District. I'd include your adress in your email to make her aware of this.

Tom - I submitted a letter to Senator Birkholz in support.

In addition, my father so happens to be a County Commisioner so I had him draft a letter of support and he sent it on to the entire Senate Natural Resources committee:

Honorable Patricia Birkholz
Honorable Gerald VanWoerkom
Honorable Raymond Basham
Honorable Bruce Patterson
Honorable Michael Prusi

plus to our local State Senator and close friend - Honorable Tony Stamas.

If you want to see any of these, let me know your e-mail and I will pass them on to you.

Thanks everyone,If we lose this one, I forsee being sent back decades of work and efforts. We will probable lose the counties we already have.

We do have some political safe guard now in place but then we will have a new committee to hit up with e-mails, so lets just keep getting e-mails and pressure on Birkholz.

Is this bill still hung up with Sen. Berkholz? I specifically asked for her opinion on this bill in my last email, all I got was an automated response :bang: . I realize there are a lot of budegetary problems in Lansing right now, but I'm an unhappy constituent!

As one of her constituent,
I could us some help in getting ONLY people in her district to e-mail and call.

We seemed to have sent a few too many e-mails and there was tales of an upset Senator.

Now we all need to hit our own senateor to try to get thing moving again.
With the Budget problems not much will get done and Ive heard that they will go on vacation without finishing the work on the budget.
We were promised a hearing this fall though.
