just go to a race, i know here in D7 that they sell AMA + district memberships on site and i assume its the same everywhere

Ha, I just race the first D17 race in IL today with Nikki! I had an Absolute blast! As for info goes, all what you really need is 1) Bike 2) anynumber above 10 will do 3) Money 4) AMA Card $50 Bucks 5) D17 District card $15. Thats basicly all that you need to start racing. All tracks, you can sign up for your AMA and your district card. Just go to the race you want to go to, and tell the sign up people that you are new to racing and need, all the literature on racing. etc.... AMA Card, District Card, Rules...... It dependes on how competative you want to get with racing!

t thought you got a 3 digit d17 number to keep track of points etc through the year. guess it was easier than i thought. i guess just black 8" numbers on a white background. hmmm... a number? thanks.

depending

on the class a rider could get a 2 digit number if desired. But normally the C & B classes most all those numbers are taken. numbers are issued by the district to the riders, this is to help keep from to many duplicate numbers showing up at the track.
The best way to sign up is to do it before you go to the races.......simply because it is less work and or build up for the sign in people on race day. AMA card is 39.00 and the basic d-17 card is 15.00 until march 1st or if its bought at the track it costs 20.00.
Only sign up early if you allow enough time for the cards to return so you don't have to buy another ama card on race day.

i thought numbers were issued,as opposed to "taken", who do i contact to sign up,pay up,get legal. i'm all excited 'cause this is the "easy"part.:p

you can

go to my site www.megacross.com and then go to "distict17 information" then click and down load and print out a d-17 application. its simple and easy to fill out.

then send it to the correct people and your in!

That be my class 250 beginner... You might wanna try out Taylorville it is a very beginner friendly track in district 17..... Hope to see you around.....

TShain! bro, i'm there:p 250c,at southfork. gotta' renew my membership this april for southfork. how often do you ride there? those whoop sections eat me up. got a secrett weapon tho, mr wilkey is doin' a full blown suspension job on my 426 starting this weekend........i'll see ya out at sf....:p
