Should a 2-stroke's idle speed go up considerably when you run out of gas? Mine does. Or is this just one more sign that the pilot is too rich?

When you run out of gas, an extremely lean mixture is introduced. This is normal, but try to avoid doing it as much as possible.

any bike that I have seen idling when it runs out of gas the idle raised. Any bike that I was riding at the time it ran out just had a significant loss of power<I am assuming the engine load kept it from screaming>

Ah, I get it! Its a trick question right?
No, a 2 stroke idle speed will not go up when its out of gas.
In fact, it shouldn't idle at all.

A 2-stroke idle speed WILL go up when it runs out of gas due to the lean air/fuel mixture. And yes, a 2-stroke CAN idle. That is purely preference.

How can it idle when it is out of gas?
If its out of gas it won't run, right?

Peer, I guess what we are trying to say is this happens when the bike is running out of gas, not completely out yet, but pretty much running on vapors.
