Thought I would bring to everyones attention Governor Bl#$wjob has raided are OHV funds of $100,000.

Does anyone know if there was any new grants awarded this year in Illinois for OHV areas?

As crappy as that is, it wasn't being used very well anyway. The idiots in Springfield raid whatever fund there is. Ever look at the general education fund? 70 percent of casino profits in Illinois as well as all lottery profits go into this fund. Somehow we still can't pay teachers more than 30 grand a year and still have property tax referendums twice a year. :uh:

I highly doubt any new grants were made but I haven't heard otherwise.

Erick.

Here in the once great communist state of Kalifornia, that is pretty common. In the past the Govener has redirected our green sticker funds into the general fund and we have had to sue to have it stopped.

A local sherrifs department has written themselves a grant inorder to get their hands on $129,000.00 of our green sticker funds for inforcement. They bought a whole stable of fancy quads, a big snazzy enclosed toy box trailer and a brand new Ford Super Duty truck to pull it all with.

They now patrol the hills and kick the dirt bikers out. Funny thing is, this is the same area that we have been trying to get a cycle park started with these green sticker funds. The County Supervisors say there is not enough interest or money for a cycle park. :( The lying bastages. :|

There are a few things we can do. First write a letter to the Editor of your local newspaper and tell the real story.

Then, join the AMA, the BRC, the ASA, or any other organization that is activly fighting this. Send them as much money as you can afford to.

These organizations are hiring attorneys to insure that these moneys are used for their intended purpose. They are countersuing to either have the money returned or to insure it doesn't happen in the future.

This happens mostly because we let it happen. It's our money, if you don't like what their doing with it, step up and do something. :thumb:

Anything.
