I'm So Far Out of the Loop Here...

Quick question, unless it's none of my business: Who are Bob and Bryan aka kawakrazy or whatever? In the Flame Forum, that is. I just can't keep up with what's going on there. Is it a funny practical joke coming from the inside or is it really a mean-spirited attack? Again, if it's not my business, just put me back in the corner.

Long story, condensed version.

RMD is a news group that used to be pretty decent. Bob and Brian are trolls. They both attempt to bring down most any thread on RMD and have been banned from DRN. It seems to be a gathering place for the outcasts of DRN or most other truely moderated sites that don't put up with the garbage. RMD is a free for all, anything goes and as of late anything is getting way worse. They have a chip on their shoulder because they can't run amuck here. They are frequently joined by other DRN rejects in their attacks. I mostly read but have a few different identites I use there, Gomer and Ivan post more and MXTuner seems to be there more than here these days :ugg: . Because DRN is becoming successful they feel Okie is just sitting back and raking in the big money and that the moderators are his little Gestapo. If you have ever seen "Dumb and Dumber" you have been to RMD and met Brian and Bob.

Look to see more of these two and their pals soon. :p

Brian is Brian McCrary? aka "THE dirt rider"? I remember him. I suppose it would be tough to keep them away permanently since you can change IP's and computers, etc. Not that I know how to do that:silly: . If anyone's ever seen my posted pleas for computer help, they know that's true!
So they're just bored and felt like sturring up some poop, eh? God, how pathetic that is. Look at the time that must have gone into creating that parody...That whole thing that is linked to in the first post is just a giant joke? The part that was/is confusing me was that I have no freaking idea who is who and who is joking around and who is seriously P.O.'d, etc. Think I'll just stay here where it's relatively safe, as long as they don't let Gomer in here...DOH!
:debil:
BTW-What's with the Eddie Munster hairdo on the sheep?

Long before Okie built DRN a lot of good discussions and good humor went on over at RMD. A lot of the members here first met through RMD.
Luckily for us right around the time that guys like Brian McGarry were becoming the norm at RMD, DRN came along and gave us a new place to hang around without the poor signal/noise ratio that was begining to sweep RMD.

The sad part is there are a ton of really fun/smart people that used to frequent RMD, but they rarely seem to post anymore so you tend to just notice the more vocal/annoying types like Bob Mallard and Brian McGarry.

Things always change, it's inevitable I guess, but it's still a shame to see it.

So it's like our own little terrorist war we are fighting here, trying to keep an eye on the borders to see "who's coming in", as it were. It infuriates me that these no-talent ass clowns get response from people, myself included. It's the old "circular logic" diemma. To responde by telling everyone to ignore them and not respond is a response in itself, thus fulfilling the twisted, attention-seeking goals of these morons. It's quite frustrating.
On a similar note-I just discovered the "Top 100 Posters" list last week and noticed that our dear, departed "CRGuy" was up in the top 50 or so, even though he was here for just a few months. That brings back some bad, bad memories of prolific public displays of idiocy. <shudder>

At one point RMD tended to be self-policing so guys like CR-Guy literally were shouted down and tended to move along. These days it's seems like the noise is harder to control.

As an aside it is pretty funny to see RMD people turning on these two boobs, and lately I've noticed a nice undercurrent of distaste for Kali's posts as well.

The circle of life on the internet, or maybe in this case the circle jerk of life

Duly noted, Ivan. I just never can remember that name. My old age is devouring my short-term memory at an alarming rate, but I definitely know who I'm thinking of. No confusing that jackass with anyone else.

I used to visit RMD fairly often a couple of years back, and like Rich said, at that time it wasn't bad. Lot's of good info, and quite a bit of humor. Now I go over there every month or two just to see what's going on. And it's like a soap opera. Even if you miss a few months, you feel like you haven't missed a thing. There's always one or two trash DRN threads going on. I haven't posted there in so long, I don't remember what my password is.

I never reply to these morons, it's not worth my time. But I still can't help but think that at some point, they would get tired of being idiots and crawl back into their holes!

Ah yes, the ignorant don't know they're ignorant!

I refuse to have my time wasted in those type of threads. I am willing however, posting insidious comments here, regarding the idoitic threads/posters. Private, Quiet, and expensive, AHHHHH!

At least in this forum capitalism protects the 'support teams' sanctity.

I pretty much stay away from RMD... I used to get REALLY pissed when I read some of it, I pretty much ignore it anymore.

I did receive a link to a thread a few minutes ago that took me by surprise, DrBill is over there saying he was abused/banned, which is complete crap. We cut him a LOT of slack becuase he's been here from the beginning. One of the moderators recently sent him an email or two asking him to cool it on the racial crap he was posting. We've all known Bill is moody as hell, but he just went-off one time too many last week.

I guess his post over there is the result. RMD def. attracts anyone pissed about how DRN is run. Oh well... We're doing the best we can, in fact one of the goals is to make sure it never turns into a "RMD". I don't think anyone here will miss the language, the "gay sex", and the like posts that litter the place.

Bob & Brian say censoring foul language flies in the face of Free Speech, we should allow anyone to post anything they want. Not here. That's what RMD is for. They have a comfortable home there, why they are so deep into trashing DRN is beyond me? To be frank, Bob's obsession with DRN cracks me up... the guy is so predictable. For the record, he and I have never had a conversation of any kind. He has never been a member here and therefore never banned. McGarry is just a preofessional troll having his own kind of fun.

Re: Dr. BillZ

Hate to say it, but my respect level for the good (?) Dr. has fallen way off the scale. I sent Aimee a PM letting her know that she handled him very well in a thread in the General Discussion Forum. Can't even remember what it was about, I was getting tired of the whole thing. I posed to her a couple of scenarios about free speech that involved me singing Tony Bennett tunes or screaming explicatives through a bullhorn in his office or outside his window at 3:00 AM and wondered if he would infringe upon my right to free speech?
I see his posts at ThumperTalk, although I only occaisionally hit there anymore since I sold the DRZ, and he seems to be a valuble member there. Even has his picture atop Engineer Pass (in Colorado?) on the DRZ cover page. That forum is "Moderated by Bill". I am assuming it is him, but I could be mistaken. Just an unfortunate string of events with him. I was biting my tongue so much it hurt during his last little "spell". Hell, I was standing on it! I can't remember how many times I hit "Post Reply", typed in a rant and then cleared it without posting. I thought I could be a little more productive by reassuring Speedy that most of us (I hope) were in agreement with her.

Overall-I am still quite happy with this place. Like it or not, you freaks are my extended family!:scream: Now, who wants a canole?:)

Big Lou - I do the "shall I really post that" thing quite a bit, LOL I'm way more radical in my thinking than I let loose with ANYWHERE on the internet. I try to think ahead not just my next breathe.

Hook, Line and Sinker!

Just kidding, Ivan. I remember reading your post about not having the time to moderate anymore (or something like that). I always thought you quit because of the lousy pay! ;)

For the most part, I take people at face value, even here on this site. When I started lurking here a year and a half ago, there is no way that I could have imagined the friends that I would be making here. Our local riding group that consisted of four of us last summer, has grown to probably 25 of us that are "every weekend riders" with another 15-20 in reserve. Some of these guys I now consider best of friends.

I can't tell you how cool it is to realize that most of the folks here are genuine, down to earth types. My first experience with that was when selling the FMF slip-on off of the DRZ. Someone actually sent me a check in the mail and relied on me to send them the pipe. That is trust. One guy sent me $20 cash for some other small parts, also.

Some of the names are familiar, and some may not be, but the folks that I've met through this place are now my Email pen-pals, my riding buddies, my confidants and even my extended family. I try to do my good deeds via PM to those that I think I can offer some help or support to. I'm not superstitious, but I do believe in Karma. What comes around, goes around. Thankfully that was good karma coming back around two nights ago when a dead battery left me stranded in town with a truck full of groceries and the stranger at the counter gave me a jump and the guys at AutoZone "broke the rules" and lent a hand installing my new battery so I could get home.

Another incredible example of human kindness from this site is Spodefest/DirtWeek. Bswift and the Oklahoma spodes insisted that I drink their beer and eat the last of their food before shoving off for the hotel Saturday night. No kidding! I couldn't get ot of it.

Thanks to SF/DW I now am in constant contact with Brian (Bswift), Papak, CAL, Julius, and many more. This is family and this is a great place to hang out. To quote the Blue Angels (for those of you that have seen their documentary) "Happy to be here, boss".

(I even imitated Ivan by breaking this post up into several small paragraghs!):debil:

So did I. I haven't been over there to read it yet. I'm a bit more worried about the thread started at X-DB. It looked to me like it could turn into a DRN bash party. I let them/Bill know that it wouldn't fly. He/they seemed to have gotten my message. It's starting to get off topic nicely! :)

Ivan - I appreciate your concern but it's not worth the energy to worry about the psychotic ramblings of a few disenfranchised malcontents.

The friends I've made and the fun I've had more than balances things for me and probably a lot of other people as well.

I'll sleep well tonight with or without the approval of the Brian McGarrys of the world. You should too :)

The latest from Bill

I guess Bill got pissed that I moved his post to the "Places to ride/Organized Rides" forum.

He's ALWAYS had the opinion that he could post where ever he wants.

Okay.. now I'm begining to think he's a prick.

The latest from Brian:
Is this guy smoking too much weed or what? Sheez.
Good 'Ol boy clique that continues to corrupts the
values that this nation holds dear. Join us in our fight,
realizing that to do so will make you unpopular among your peers.
Man... whatever he's talking' , he needs to get a new prescription?

This is out of control. I really can't believe these guys. Maybe it's all complete BS? Please tell me it's so, I'd hate to believe there are folks out there that believe this stuff and take it all so seriously?

So, let me get this straight. There won't be a quad forum.:think ;)

"Defenseless dirtbikers"? If by that he means giant, flaming dumbass troublemakers then, yes, they will be eventually asked to leave. I have seen enormous ammounts of patience and tolerance shown to some of these guys. But like someone already said, idiots don't know that they're idiots. You can only fight a battle to the degree for which you are equipped. It's like arguing with a 2-year old. They just ain't gonna get it. Period. That's where the "My way or the highway" approach has to come in. When you were little youmay not have understood why you were told to do something, but then one day, if you were lucky, something clicked and the lightbulb went off. Unfortunately, some people's bulbs are burned out.

One of the guys at RMD who actually likes me met Brian and described him as as really quiet guy in real life who mostly kept to himself at the group ride. He's an overweight banker from Milwaukee who lives vicariouslly through the internet.

It's clear to me that he is not stupid. Obviously smart enough to realize that the best way to pull the chain of people who are patriotic and act with integrity is to question their patriotism and their ethics. Hence the constant freedom of speech and ethics gibberish.

The doofus would wet himself if he had to say this stuff to your face Okie, so don't let him get under your skin. Besides what do you care what a handful of rockheads think?

Thank Lou, the truth is, virtually everyone I know is like this. We help each other all of the time. When we call someone a friend, your more like family.
The Wank-off's are going to spew their foul ideas no matter who cares. I am of the beleif that DRN has a copyright lawsuit against the Wankers. If the site is in the public domain without having a disclaimer as a "parody", I would think that it is a copyright infringement.
I hope the mods and admins just use the delete key rather than locking these diatribes of BS.
I continue to frequent this site because of the info, the fun, and the friendships. I don't ride with people I don't like and I won't hang with the same idiots on the internet.
