Sorry to have missed the Big Bear ride but I had to attend to a community garage sale to get more money for WR toys :).

I saw that Big Bear was not enforcing the Red Sticker does anyone know if Gorman is doing likewise? I called and they said "offically" they are but does anyone know if the rangers are if I go in early before the gate is open?

Thanks.

YES, Gorman is enforcing the red sticker. A friend of mine had a YF426 with a red sticker and they warned him not to ride his bike. This occured a couple of weeks ago.
Since he drove there and didn't want to leave without riding, he risked it and got away with it. Be warned that they will fine you if you're caught.:p

Sticker Confusion

Here's the response I received from the D-36 Leg. Action Officer:

Jim
What has happened is that there is a reluctance to try and enforce the Red
Sticker seasons due to the inability of DMV to sort everybody out correctly.
Probably more people have gotten Green Stickers than the Red Stickers they
were supposed to be issued. Due to this arbitrary system, courts are
reluctant to prosecute someone for doing something an identical bike, save
for the color of the sticker, is allowed to do. Because of this, most
agencies are letting everybody ride anytime. Without teeth behind the
rule, it is unlikely that anyone will be cited, even if the agency prefers
to try and enforce the rule.

Some day, DMV will probably get their act together so that the VIN numbers
will be computer sorted for Red/Green determination. Until then, thank
goodness for poorly run bureaucracies.

If you get there early in the morning before the rangers man the gate your good to go. They are more interested if you have a sparky or not. Good luck. Just watch out for the idiots on quads.
