Everts Wins ISDE, America's Team Seventh

After a rough week that began with Barry Hawk's bike breaking and the team sitting in 12th place, America's Team ended up 7th overall in the World Trophy division of the 78th Annual International Six Days Enduro. Since teams only have to count their best five of six results, other teams were able to pick through their mistakes throughout the week to get a solid result. With Hawk out, the U.S. had to count every finish their other riders had, good or bad. A seventh under such conditions is a solid result.

The GNCC Club team of Randy Hawkins, Robbie Jenks and Doug Blackwell finished second in the three-man Club division.

KTM's Curt Caselli was the top American at the event, finishing 17th overall.

The best result was saved for Stefan Everts, though, who completed one of the most amazing race seasons ever by winning the overall, a nice match to his FIM World MXGP title. Stefan had never raced an enduro before, and while this event had more motocross-friendly conditions than past ISDEs, Everts still had to preserve his machine through six days of racing - and do all of his own mechanical work. That's not typical for motocrossers. But then again, Everts' season has been anything but typical.

Nice selective reporting by Racer X. Everts can not win the ISDE by himself any more than RC can win the MXdN. It's a team event.

All I can say is: scoreboard.

I still believe the ISDE (International Six Day ENDURO) needs to return to the Enduro format of racing. 3-6 minute special test :uh: !

This is not meant to takeaway from the participants. This is more a shot at the promoter.

Yeah the REAL SPOILER is that FINLAND won the ISDE and thats it. It's nice that Everts done so well... but like in MXON the best team won.

Have you heard anything from Mika Ahola - If the US tean didn't win I was hoping he would make it 3rd in a row!
