Assuming there is no standard jetting accross the board, I thought it would be helpfull to many folks if we could list our location, state of mods, and jetting set ups as a "starting point" for others to guage there requirements. A thread of this nature could at least get other riders, contemplating this every popular topic some assurance they are in the ballpark.

mnnthbx I think its a great idea :thumb: I have a 01 KDX220 stock pipe and silencer no airbox lid.148 main and 48 pilot I know its too rich and Id like to buy a few sets of jets too try, but if I had examples of what other people are having success with at similar elevations and temps I would have a good starting point.

1999 KDX220R Normally ridden at 4-6K' elev. Boyesen reeds, Wiseco Piston, FMF K-35 Pipe, TurbocoreII silencer, airbox lid removed, UNI airfilter
Carb set at: 140-main, 35-pilot, AS-1.5 turns out, stock needle at the top/leanest clip.
BR8ES plug
Running on Race Gas VP C-12 and Maxima Super M oil at 40:1
NOTE: If you try going this lean, use a fuel that you are sure is consistant from tank to tank, know it's cooling capacity, and it's vaporization range. I would not run this lean with pump gas. Too much variation from one fillup to the next.

2000 KDX 220,Memphis,TN, 200 FT Above Sea Level,FMF G30 Rev/Desert pipe,FMF Turbine Core II spark arrestor, lid off Airbox,13/50 gearing, bought it slightly used and I know it has stock jetting.FMF recommends 50/48 Pilot and 155 Main Jets but they don't list the elevation for their recommendations.I would also appreciate suggestions for my elevation. Anybody, thanks in advance. This is a great topic.I think a Jetting Database is wanted by more than a few members here.

I just changed my pilot to a 45 1.5 turns out. This made a huge
difference. It now runs crisp to about 3/4 throttle. I am going to lower
my main jet to 148 and see what happens. It still seems to run very rich
on top.

My new settings are 152 main, 1172n 3rd clip, 45 pilot 1.5 turns out.

89 KDX200 @ seal level-500ft MAX
Wiseco +2mm piston
PC Pipe
no lid
reverse-flow section cut out from stock silencer (much shorter)
ports polished, stock head

Currently: 155mj, 48pj, 2.5 turns out PAJ, stock needle at 2nd clip.

Runs awesome on top, a hair rich. Pilot circuit is rich for sure, I'll try a 42 sometime this week. Other than the pj being rich, throttle response and general power is excellent. :thumb:

87 kdx 200 air box mod, power reeds, top needle position on stock needle, 330 main (going to test a 310 or 320 soon, will post) 30 pilot, no air screw on this carb, running basically at sea level. BR9ES.

Runs good except on bottom end, if putting around, will foul, working on problem--switching to hotter plug, then trying new needle...

btw---excellent idea on the database!

Where's a good place to get jets? I'd like to buy a few sets to test out on my bike, but I can't find a place that sells 'em.

You can't get them locally at your bike shop, but they can be expensive. Or at
www.sudco.com, www.carbparts.com, www.denniskirk.com to name a few.

Twocycle,

I have an 89 KDX with only the airbox removed (looks like an identical configuration) I too am running the Mobile MXT oil and I'm curious about your mixture ratio? (I've been running 32:1).

I've got a 2001 220 Right now i am running 38/155 needle in 2nd from top- I've got BOYSEN RAD Valve RB designs carb no air box lid i run either GNARLY REV or GRUNT pipe and i have a TC2 S/A. I live in iowa 500 ft above sea level, as it gets warmer here i'll drop the main down and adjust the needle, Ron sent me 2 needles when i got my carb bored. Is it true there are no smaller pilot jets than a 38?
