I agree on using a lower rpm when learning to jump. More momentum and rpm is easier but if you want to compete and stay with the pack (or lead it) you have to be on the pipe, especially on a 125. I found that when I went to an 01 bike verses my 92, I was able to move the bike around in the air alot easier. It takes practice to jump and usually includes crashing, unfortunately, but your suspension settings help the process too.
