I just ordered a new TM250 which should be here in 1-2 weeks and am trying to find skid/glide plate for it. I have found several on the web for 2000-2002 model bikes, does anyone know if these would work on a 2005, or has the frame geometry changed since 2002. If so, any good sources for skid plates/aftermarket parts.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey sborn,

Could you give an impression of the tm 250or anybody with a comparable model. I am considering one real soon. Is the power manageble at all or is it just a monsterous hitting brute? Also how does she handle?

Thanks,
Matt.

I rode an 05 TM250 and 300 recently with ohlins front and rear. The power delivery on the 250 to me was 125 style, not much bottom, lots of mid and top. Quite manageable but tiring in the long run. The 300 would be my choice for the extra bottom. The handling on both bikes is awesome. Both bikes steered and handled completely predictably all the time. The only other bike that handles that well is my husky 250. Compared to other 05's imo, the gg 250 handles well after broken in but the power is a bit doughy, lots of flywheel. The ktms have vague steering and handling. The husky is just about on par with the TM handling wise, but has smoother more usable power for me. All of them are better than a jap bike though ;)

i love my 2001 tm 250. fast, reliable, clean, looks different, best of evrything, always draws a crowd (and thats a 2001). One of the great used bike buys IMO.
