Just installed Boysens in My 01 RM250, it states on the instructions to use the 3rd groove on the needle, it looks like they are referencing an older carb style? Inotice there is a rachet style set up on mine ( not like the old days) :blah: Anyway any advise would be much appreciated before I put it back together.

In the way olden days of the 80's, I never rejetted after putting on Boyesen Reeds and the bikes always ran fine. That's not to say it might not have ran better but I'd just put it together and do a plug check to see if you even need to do any jetting changes.

Do a plug check but also make note of the performance. If you are not bogging or any abnormal throttle response, you should be good.

Tuning isn't a science, it's a fine art..

There's only one person who'd ever be able to tell for sure if you need to rejet a bike after any work.. And that would be the guy who's ass is on the seat.

You can look at charts and books and all of that, but the only way to know for sure is buy riding it and seeing what it needs.

Even two identically set up bikes won't react exactly the same to changes.
