I have a 10 yr old thats built like a bull at 150lbs.He has been riding a xr 80 for about 4 yrs now and he has severely outgrown the power and suspension of the xr.I want to put him on a kdx but he is about 6"-8" too short for one?I have heard that you can raise the forks and loosen the spring preload, cut out some seat foam, buy modified shock linkage,ect...
Does anyone have any other suggestions? What about having smaller rims laced up on the hubs, what would the down side be to that? THX

wow...

I went from a KX80 to KDX200 with 220 kit and im still getting used to the power.

Thats a huge leap from a XR80 to KDX200/220.

anybody else agree?

As far as Seat height and Suspension wise ever thinkabout a two stroke mabey a Yz85 or CR80 expert (i really dont prefer honda but it IS taller) the suspension will hold my 2 ton fathher i think it will be good for him!!!

I think, if my son were big enough he could handle a stock KDX.

It's mild enough in stock form, if he can reach and is strong enough to man-handle it. I would be more concerned with the size than the power.
