My KDX 250 SR leaks spooge from the exhaust, it's way too rich and I am working on that issue. But at the same time, I figured I would change the exhaust gasket. I got a gasket from a shop but it's not the right one as it is smaller than the stock one.
Whereas the enduro (US ) model uses 2 o rings and a copper gasket, the SR has only one copper gasket

This copper gasket appears in good shape on mine, it appeared it was covered by another o-ring or silicone based
sealant as I found some residues of rubber material on it.

Is there an alternative to the stock gasket which doesn't seem to do its job ? What about using the O rings + gasket from the US model ?

In the meantime I decided to try heat resistant silicone on top of the copper gasket to see if it stops the leaking.
But afterward I wondered if there was any possibility of silicone getting into the cylinder from some blow back effect.

Mine leaks too. I just install the pipe with the copper gasket and 2 0-rings then fill the gap around the pipe with heat resistant silicone...works quite well. You just need to replace it every few rides if another leak forms.
