Hi,

Since parts are hard to get for the older bikes, I would like to check what other model KDX will have an Airbox that will bolt on and fit on the 1988 KDX 200 ?
(With minor adjustments if needed, and if the boot will fit also)
*I know the 87, 86 are similar - but are hard to find in good condition.
What about older years KDX 200, 250 ?

Thanks for your help!

looks like the 86-87-and 88 are the same airbox the two on ebay have cracking on the boot best I can tell you is pick one and use a non-harding sealant like honda bond and clean it up and coat the crackes with it then use black rtv to coat over top of the grey hondabond so it dont look like hell... I did this with my it175 intake boot/ reed cage that looked cracked

Thanks sr5bidder !
I thought of using a 1985 or older Airbox on the 88, because they seem more available and in better shape for their age.
But will they fit on the 88 frame? and will the boot fit to the carb ? etc...

In the USA, 86 - 88 airboxes are the same, but the Keihin carb change makes the '88 boots unique to the 1998 (airbox to carb and carb to engine)

cool i knew kdxgara.. I mean glad2ride would chime in with specifics....really the only choice for now is to get the 88 and fix/rig the boot as discribed above and keep an eye on it till a better/ new one turns up
