kdx kick start lever 1986

Hello dirt lovers,
I need a kdx 200 kickstart lever for a 1986 kdx 200. Will the kx 125 1989 lever fit? According to the hybrid kickstart article by Dave, the lever will work but is the shaft the same?

These kickstart levers are IMPOSSIBLE to find. I would settle for an old pair of vice grips, I am getting desparate.

The kickstarter from a 97-05 200 or 220 will work just fine on an 87. I have an 87 200 and a 97 220 and have exchanged the kickstarters on occasion. Perfect fit either way.
