Does anyone know if an air cooled KDX 200 engine (87-88) would fit into a KX125 chassis of a similar era? Or would a watercooled motor fit into one without major surgery? Thanks in advance...
Look in the womens forum for a topic about cool vixen bikes, Mrs. Vixen has a KDX motored KX that looks awesome, I guess her husband built it,they could probably give you more info.
IT IS NOT ONLY POSSIBLE, THE CONVERSION MAKES A WONDERFUL BIKE. THE FORRUNNER TO THE KTM 200! I HAVE 2 94 KX 125'S WITH KDX MOTORS. IT IS A LITTLE BIT OF WORK, BUT RELLY WORTHWHILE.
I am very curious to know what the total wet weight(full of fuel) is of the KX125 frame with the KDX200/220 motor. How much fuel does the stock KX 125 tank hold and is there a aftermarket desert/higher capacity tank available?? Does the front to rear weight bias change much over the stock KDX 200 with this chassis swap??
a shop not far from my house is preparing to do this very modification, I'll try to get some of the specs on this as I'm kind of interested in it myself, I might even be able to take some pics.
