I have a 2001 KDX200 that is leaking fuel. It appears that it is passing through the engine (carb?) and straight out the drain tube. The odd thing is that this also happens when the engine is off. Turn the fuel supply on, wait a few seconds and the drip starts. Sometimes this is worse than others and at times there is no leakage at all.

I had about 6 hours of ride time yesterday and she runs like a dream except for the little leakage problem. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks for the help!

1) float valve could be bad
2) float height could be set too high (like 12mm or something like that). I think it is supposed to be 14mm-18mm.

If this is an intermittant problem, I'd be looking at dirt in the fuel, which is preventing the float valve from sometimes seating properly.
Drain some fuel out of the carb into a clean glass container and check for contamination. Install an inline fuel filter if necessary.
Check float level and condition of float valve needle and seat, as was suggested above.
