KE175, shifting funny

the thing seems to always want to shift into neutral. I dont know much about these old bikes and wondered if maybe the gears were going out. what kind of oil should i be running in it? and where. it has a dipstick on the lower end of the motor, and also a reservoir underneath the left side of the seat.

you should be running 80weight gearsaver in it.to me it sounds like you need some lucas tranny oil in it.

The KE175's were oil injected, no? The reservoir under the seat is for 2-stroke oil. The one with the dipstick on the engine is for transmission oil. Don't ever let the reservoir under the seat run dry.
