There are a zillion threads on this (use the search key above). Simple test is to pull the RHS cover off & see if the lever moves out when you rev the bike, but this won’t tell you if the gears are stripped (common). Best to take them apart & clean them every so often to prevent this. Again read threads on this.

this check the threads thing don't work for me i put in kipps valve and it brought up 2
1 of them was mine not a lot help there then
i have taken off the cover and you can pull out the shaft quiet easliy
so dose this mean the gears shafted

that worked i can't spell for sh*t me
thanks for the help just stripped the top end down and found the left valve has stripped it's teeth so i have ordered the ofending part should be here tommorow

Jeff, what did you have to pay for the valve. I ordered mine from 1-877-797-2453 and the exact cost was 25.22 plus I had to order the collar too 3.74 plus $8 for shipping total $37.00. My local dealer quoted my 46.95 for one valve. Dont forget buykawasaki.com-go there and type in your year model and you can look up any part and part number. Just thought this might help.
