I'm not talking about the LHT shaft lever nut behind the advancer shaft lever cover, that cover has 3 screws holding it on. I'm talking about the nut on the other end of the shaft. Its behind the large screw cap. It is very tight and seems to torgue the shaft a lot when I try to remove it. The manual does not say this has a LHT. Is there a tip for getting it off without breaking something?

Grasp the gear on the other end with a couple pieces of oak and a clamp or channel locks. Several wraps of leather will work also. As usual be very careful with the teeth.
You can also push the main valve and linkage toward the cylinder with your thumb and remove the nut. It is right hand thread. If the outboard (driven) gear has wear you can rotate it 180 when you go back together.
