KLX 143 and 26mm mikuni questions / help

We put a 143 set up on our klx 100. Bought a mikuni 26 mm carb to go with it. Having a couple problems that I can't seem to work out. The throttle cable is now too long (after being to short with the stock carb cap and copper neck) Is there supposed to be a spacer or neck on top of the carb cap? I have used the adjuster at the throttle, but all adjustment is being used and the cable is probably 1" too long still, leaving a lot of slop in it. If you have done this conversion, can you post me a picture of the set up. Maybe we are missing a piece or something. All I have is a little rubber grommet maybe 3/8" Did you have to change out the throttle cable. I have also tried to adjust the idle with no luck. Its too high. I also have gas dripping out of the carb. Can the float be stuck and just pouring gas up into the carb making it run fast? Did you have to change out the jets? I didnt even check to see what size jets came with it, and none extra came with it. What size are you using.
