I bought some knee pads from Evs-Sports, and it took me quite a while to find a pair that provided the right mix of comfort and protection - they don't interfere with my boots and they are nice and light. However when I wear them with nothing underneath (I wear the pads under my riding pants), the straps irritate my skin pretty badly. I would hate to have to wear another layer of pants underneath since I do most of my riding in the AZ desert where it is getting very hot. Has anyone had a similar experience and could offer some type of MacGyver-like solution?

Thanks.

Nylon Support socks do the trick for me. They go up over the knee. Bought them at Meijers. They are kinda like thin dress socks but go all the way up..

My moto socks come right up below the knees, so a taller sock makes sense to me! The only time my cups bother me is if I get sand under them. (Yeh, sometimes I fall and get dirty!)
