Good morning all, I just created an account and need help.
KTM 175 hrs on it, was sitting in garage for 6 months before the problem started, I was driving it normally for 2 weeks.
One day I had a problem switching it on after a ride and the problem turned out to be a vacuum build up in the tank(maybe), openned the fuel cap and it started. Tomorrow I installed the harness for the turn signals and prepared it to be road legal with led blinkers, tested it and all was fine. Next day again problem with starting but the problem was not the vacuum, pulled out fuel pump and replaced filters, charged the battery and the bike started and was fine for that day. And that was the last day it started again.
What I realized : while I crank the bike, fuel pump spins only for a second and stops, and fuel injector sprays only once (cranking the bike for atleast 4 seconds).
- Bypassing the relay I can hear the fuel pump priming and the injector sprays.
- Used start gas and the bike turns on for a brief moment.
- Battery 13.2 V, freshly changed the air filter, oil and oil filter.
- Pulled out the pump and tested it with external 12 V and working healthy.
- Changed the spark plug and checked for spark, has spark and is sparking while cranking
What could cause this problem? Thanks in advance.
