KTM 300 EXC jetting

Just bought a 99 KTM 300 EXC with an FMF pipe. It does not seem to run clean right off idle. Anyone out there with different jetting advice? Bike seems run good other than this although it does seem to generate a lot of two stroke drool.

order up a #7 slide, a 42 pilot and start with maybe a 172 main with your stock needle in the middle clip position. 99 300s came with a #6 slide, way to rich unless you ride in austria during the winter!

 

[Strick]

Get yourself a 1369J needle, 3rd clip. If that and moving the clip up or down does not cure the off idle response, a new (or shaved) slide may be in order.
