Happy laborless day!
Finally doing the top end on my 2000 ktm 250 exc with the parts I bought for myself around Christmas. The piston is a 2 ring OEM and the pins for the 2 rings are only staggered about 1/8" or 3/16" apart. Is this normal?
The piston that came out of the bike had a stagger of about an inch or more for reference. That is what I understand to be typical for 2 ring 2T pistons.
Have any of you installed a piston like this, or am I just being paranoid? Oh yea both pistons have the pin locations on the intake side. I was really hoping to get 'er done tonight but i'm not sure if my piston is cool or not?
