Well the ktm comes with better handles bars and chain air fliter stock over the RM. Otherwise when looking at frame construction I think they are the about the same. There's minor things about the ktm I still don't like, like the funky raditor flow setup. I don't like how the subframe/rear master cylinder mount is one solid piece of what looks like sheet metal, oh an I don't like how the brake pedal mounts up. These are just minor gripes only, the ktm on the other hand has a killer motor for '02. Lots of bottom/mid range, I heard it hits with major authority. I also see alot of '02 RM's out there also, I don't know much about the motor for this year other than it blows last years awaY. Give the stock suspension award to the RM, the KTM isn't bad but not the greatest. handling I give the RM the sharpness/qwickness the KTM is going to be more stable lots of magazine BS about them not turning sharp. Tell my friend who races one in AX that they'll totally disagree :) What it boils down to anymore is who will give you the best deal/ I know to some getting parts locally from the dealer is important but I buy majority of my parts mail order anymore. Both bikes totally kick ass and you'll love them both, don't pass up blue either.
