I have a 2002 kawasaki kx 250. I'm having a hard time getting it to start. Especially when it is cold. I was wondering how much compression should my bike have? And also how low can it get before you need to rebuild it?

Ive got the same bike, 02 KX250. the dude i bought it from said some after market stuff was done to the engine, i wish i could say what was done. but i have a hard time starting mine too. once i get it started and warmed up, its easy to start. i think i almost broke my foot the last time i tried to start it. (i left for iraq so its been a while since i rode it last)

Check your intake reeds. If they are stock, then they are probably frayed out a little or chipped. That will cause hard starting.
