Very easy fork to service. Loosen the top triple clamp bolts. Loosen the fork caps before removing the forks from the bike. Do the caps back up so they lightly seal. This is just to ensure you have no trouble undoing the caps later on. Remove the fork from the bike. Turn the fork upside down. Have someone compress the fork whilst you undo the allen bolt from the bottom. As the bolt begins to come free, take the pressure off the fork. Remove the bolt and drain the oil into a suitable container. Remove the cap and spring. The damper rod assembly can also be removed from the centre of the fork. Clean the forks with a suitable non-aggressive solvent. Allow to dry. Reassemble the forks. Using 20wt oil set the level to 120mm from top. This is measured with the springs out and the fork fully compressed. May the force be with you!
