The upper flap of my main exhaust valve doesn`t make contact with the top of the exhaust port when it`s in the full open position. there is quite a gap and a lot of freeplay. when i pull on the main lever (more than the KIPS mechanism does) it comes up all the way.
All the parts appear to be in good condition. Seems like somehow the main lever doesn`t have enough swing.
Is that normal for the KIPS ? Any ideas?

Wrap a paper towel around the rack rod so you do not mark it up and pull it open with pliers. Keep the cylinder right side up pull the bottom rack hard towards you and hold it and then check the main valve. I have found out when putting the valves back dry it does not open as free also. If you have them timed properly the arm that hooks to the rod does pull with more force than you can.
