I’m in the middle of repairing the back linkage on my 1998 kx250 but I’m having problems finding out what the dimensions of the thrust bearings should be. Does anyone know what the are or where I can find out?

If you remove the bearings and clean them up the size is usually stamped on the sides.
However, most suspension bearings are not available from a bearing shop as they are a proprietry size.
There are some great after market kits available from your bike dealer.

Thanks for the response. I’ve only just bought the bike and the linkage was something that needed to be done. When I stripped the bike I noticed that the bearings had completely collapsed therefore I couldn’t read or measure the dimensions. My friend has machined all the parts that I need so far except for these thrust bearings. From your response I take it that these are specialist parts that I wont be able to get other than from a motocross dealer?

you can order the needle bearings and side washers from a bearing supply house. The pins and seals you have to get from the dealer. I just did the linkage on my '99KX 250 and found it was cheaper to buy the pivot works kit as I needed everything. If you can save the seals and the pins are not bad the bearings were about $5.00 each.
