I need help with Jetting a 2001 KX60. I just installed an FMF Fatty with a KTM 65 FMF Turbine core spark arrestor silencer.
The expansion chamber is twice the size of the stock one.

The stock jetting is on the bike as recommended by FMF, but the bike surges in the mid to high r's. My 9 y/o son says that it is ridable, but feels as if it is not getting enough gas at times near mid to full throttle.
Rider weight is 54 lbs. Bike seems to be OK in the closed to 1/2 throttle position, but at 1/2 to Full open the bike seems to surge at time.
Fuel ratio is 30 to 1.
elevation is 300 to 2500feet
temp 50 - 78 degrees
West Coast trails and mini MX tracks

The stock jetting specs are:
#2 Throttle valve Cutaway
30 PilotJet
N-8 Needle jet, FMF recommends a leaner N-6
5I14 Jet needle
3rd Jet needle position ProCircuit recommends 2nd clip (richer)position and stock N-8 needle jet.
200 main jet

My question is that with this surging is it requiring more gas? If so is it better to raise the clip to the 2nd position (richer) or increase the main jet from a 200 to the next larger size (210).
